Privacy Policy for Media Tabs

This Privacy Policy describes how the Media Tabs browser extension (“the Extension”) handles information when you install and use it.

1. Single purpose

Media Tabs lets you control play, pause, mute, seek, and volume for HTML5 audio and video in open browser tabs from a popup list or a separate window, without switching to each tab.

2. Information the Extension accesses

To provide that functionality, the Extension may access:

• Tab information (such as tab title, favicon, URL, and mute/audible state) for open tabs that may contain media, so they can be listed and controlled.
• Website media content — specifically HTML5 <video> and <audio> elements — to detect playback state and perform play, pause, seek, and volume changes when you use the Extension.
• Local preferences such as the last media tab you controlled and the size/position of the optional floating window.

The Extension does not collect names, email addresses, passwords, payment details, health data, precise location, personal messages, or keystroke logs.

3. How information is stored and used

• Information is processed on your device to show the media tab list and to control media when you ask.
• Limited state may be saved locally using browser storage APIs (for example session cache of media status, last interacted tab id, and window bounds).
• This information is used only for the Extension’s single purpose described above.

4. Sharing and selling

We do not sell user data. We do not transfer user data to third parties for advertising, analytics networks, or creditworthiness / lending. We do not send browsing or media data to our own remote servers as part of normal use of the Extension.

If you use the optional “Support on Ko-fi” link, your browser opens ko-fi.com/andrfil. That site is operated by Ko-fi and is subject to Ko-fi’s own privacy policy. The Extension does not transmit your tab or media data to Ko-fi.

5. Data retention

Locally stored Extension state remains on your device until you clear site/extension data, uninstall the Extension, or the browser clears session storage. Uninstalling the Extension removes its stored data according to your browser’s behavior.

6. Children’s privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Extension after an update means you accept the revised policy.
